Prof. (Dr.) Devesh Kishore - Dean
|
A first Doctorate in Broadcasting in India, Dr.Devesh Kishore received his early training in Mass Communication and Journalism from reputed Universities in the US under UNDP program. He was instrumental in establishing the Audio and Video studio in 1970 at Pantnagar University and at NAARM (1986), Hyderabad. He also set up an Electronic Media Production Centre at IGNOU with the assistance of JICA, Government of Japan (1993). He served in different highest capacities such as Professor, Head and Director for many national level institutions of repute: Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi (1972-77), NAARM, Hyderabad (1977-92) and IGNOU, New Delhi (1992-2005). He also worked for several international organizations like World Bank, FAO, UNESCO, and UNDP on several projects concerning educational communication and Human Resource Development. He has been a member of the UGCs national research and higher education panel and a member of the Board of Studies in Mass Communication and Journalism of a large number of Universities. As many as ten students received Ph.D under his supervision from MCRP University and Gorakhpur University. He has been Visiting Professor at Syracuse University, Cornell University, Phoenix University, Tuscon University USA and at Westminster University, London.

Professor Dr. N.K.Trikha
|
A Doctorate in Political Science Dr. Trikha has a distinguished career in Journalism and Mass Communication. He was accredited with the honor of Long and Distinguished Service in Journalism by both the Houses of Parliament and Government of India. He is an author, editor, columnist and served in various capacities in the Times of India group for over 29 years. He served as Director for the Institute of Professional Studies, Ghaziabad, Member of Academic Council of Makhanlal Chatruvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal, and Amity School of Communication. He is a Member of Board of Studies in Journalism for many Universities. He was member of the Press Council of India for two terms and served on the National Wage Board for Working Journalists. He was Editor for many prestigious journals: Gramodaya Kshitij (Journal of Khadi and Village Industries Commission), European Union-India Media Hand Book (English) and Sangyan (Hindi version). He received prestigious awards such as Ganesh Shankar Vidyardhi Samman and Patrakarita Bhushan . He penned a number of standard text books for the students of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Professor Mr. Ratnesh Pathak
|
A Post graduate in Broadcast Journalism. Pursuing Ph.D in Journalism and Mass Communication. Mr. Pathak worked in electronic media before joining as Sr. Lecturer in Amity School of Communication, Amity University, Noida. He later joined IMS Ghaziabad as Assistant Professor in Journalism and Mass Communication. Presently Mr. Pathak is looking after 90.4 FM Salaam Namaste Community Radio programs.

Professor Dr.C.S.H.N. Murthy
|
A doctorate in Journalism and Mass Communication from Andhra University, besides M.Phil in Communication and Journalism from Osmania University and UGC NET. As a Journalist, Short Story and Popular Science writer he wrote extensively (more than 4000 articles) on all contemporary socio-economic, cultural and political issues in Telugu press. A columnist to the Edit page of Andhra Prabha, Andhra Bhoomi, Udayam, Eenadu. A Correspondent for an NRI Cultural Tabloid, The Hinduism Today, published from Concorde, California USA. His short stories anthology Malupu in Telugu was published by Visalandhra Publishing House, Hyderabad. A Visiting Lecturer in Journalism at Osmania University, Hyderabad. Assistant Professor in Media Technology (Audio-Visual) at Ministry of Education, Government of Eritrea, Asmara for two years (2003-2005). Assistant Professor (Reader) in Mass Communication at Amity University, Lucknow-Noida (2006-2008). Published a number of research articles in national and international journals, besides two books on media: Secularism and Indian Press, Media Education in Third World (both by Kanishka Publishers, New Delhi).

Mr.C.G.Jain Asst Professor

A graduate in Science from Kanpur University (1973) with a 3 year PG Diploma in Cinema from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune (1976), He worked with a number of eminent directors (Satyajit Ray, Ramanand Sagar, Subhash Ghai, Chetan Anand, Prakash Mehra, Basu Chattarji, Ved Rahi, Rajmarbose, Ramesh Gupta, Raj Tilak, and Vinay Shukla). Asstt. Director in Delhi for films such as Ghar Nahin Milta,Haath ki Rekha, Patjhar ka Phool, Ek laakh Poot Sava Lakh Naati, Uska Nirnay, Anjaam, Tipu Sultan, etc. Associated as Asst Director for YOGA (Directed by Dr. Frank Rollier from France shot at Varanasi.), and with Mr. Brian Heller of U.S.A.for a documentary covering American Drama Group in India. He directed 23 sponsored programmes (Sarab Sanjhi Gurbani), He has 58 video spots, 23 short films and 16 documentaries to his credit. He has co-ordinated 5 short films and produced a 4-episode game show.

Dr.Vinita Gupta Asst Professor

A Doctorate in Hindi from Kanpur University she contributed to both print and electronic media as a script writer and documentary producer for several channels like ATN News Channel (a Canada based Asian Programs beaming Channel), BBC Hindi TV, CNBC and DD international. She started her earlier stint as a journalist from daily Milap in 1987, News Editor in Panchjanya weekly in 1998. She had published more than 3000 articles and 10 popular books so far. She is also a visiting Professor for many Institutes and Universities in India.

Mr.Eqbal Ahmad Asst Professor
|
A post graduate in Journalism and Mass Communication , Mr. Eqbal has earned his M.Phil in Media Appreciation from Jamia Milia Islamina University, New Delhi. Mr. Eqbal was an anchor for a 52 episode serial for DD National Channel and worked for DD Urdu Channel for various episodes. Mr. Eqbal has a good deal of teaching experience. He was associated with JNU, New Delhi, Delhi University, CCS University as Guest Faculty besides Pioneer Media School, New Delhi. Presently he is pursuing his Ph.D in Journalism and Mass Communication from Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi.

Mr.Veerendra Kumar Gohil Asst Professor
|
A Post graduate in Political Science Shri Gohil has a distinguished career in AIR for over four decades. Retired as Executive Producer in 2000. He produced about 200 National Features, short stories, talks, Drama Scripts, of which a good number of them won prestigious awards. Received 41st National Film Festival award for his story based film TAVEEZ. He also won Akashwani Awards for eight times for his documentaries. His Television scripts such as Prahari (198990), Vandana (Telefilm-DD National-1992), Yeh Ganga Hari (DD International), and Pardihi (TelefilmDD National) are still remembered as the best. Involved in training and teaching assignments at prestigious institutes like IIMC, Makhan Lal Chaturvedi, Mass Communication Center, Jamia Milia. He was also on the NCERT committee for curriculum preparation for lessons through Radio. He published 16 books.

Ms.Suparna Guha Sr. Lecturer

A post graduate in Journalism and Mass Communication from Calcutta University, she worked as a Sub-editor in a Bengali News Paper house at Kolkata in 1995. Served for 4 years as Copy Editor at Development Consultants Ltd Kolkata. Since 2002 she has been in teaching Journalism both at Kolkata and at Noida. She has a couple of publications in research journals such as Sanchar Shree, IMS Journal and Alpha Journal. She also had a Diploma in Public Relations from Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan, Kolkata. Presently she is pursuing her Ph.D in Journalism and Mass Communication from Kolkata University.
